  • Teaches writing course on organizing, preparing, and completing dissertation and thesis projects for graduate students

Senior Consultant | Center for Writing and Rhetoric, Claremont Graduate University | Fall 2019-present

  • Acting as a writing consultant for graduate students on dissertations, research papers, presentations, grant applications, and other academic and professional projects. This includes both one-on-one consultations with students (online and in-person) and giving written feedback on longer writing samples. Other responsibilities include:
  • Running organized dissertation bootcamps and writing retreats
  • Presenting writing workshops and webinars
  • Creating Canvas modules, written resources, and YouTube videos on writing-related topics
  • Serving as an embedded Writing Fellow for SCGH Capstone course
  • As a Senior Consultant served on the CWR’s Hiring Committee (2021) and prepared and presented training materials during a multi-week training program for new hires, as well as acting as a mentor for new consultants.

  • Creates and presents webinar workshops for SDSU’s Student Life and Diversity writing program.

  • Worked on committee for proposed Cadigan Arts & Humanities and transdisciplinary collaboration building.

  • Assisted with off-site research, supervised rare materials reading room, processed photo orders, and paged rare materials (rare books and manuscripts).

Library Assistant for Western Historical Manuscripts | The Huntington Library | 2009-2013

  • Served as archivist and curatorial assistant to Peter Blodgett (Curator of Western Historical Manuscripts) and Bill Frank (Curator of Hispanic and California Collections)
  • Primary duties included cataloging manuscripts ranging from single items to collections of over 1,000 pieces, writing and encoding finding aids for the Online Archive of California, writing abstracts for the Huntington digital catalog and WorldCat (over 500 entries created), and creating metadata for digitized collections.
  • Wrote 30-page guide to the Huntington’s Mormon history collections for the Huntington Digital Library.
  • Other duties included conducting research for off-site researchers, assisting with exhibit preparation, assisting with acquisitions and donor meetings, and organizing photo orders.

Photo Archives Intern | City of Hope National Medical Center | 2009

  • Created database of over 1,000 images from City of Hope’s institutional photo archives in preparation for centennial exhibition.
